Happy 1st Birthday Jonah!!!

My sweet baby boy is 1 today!!! What an exciting day for us and what an eventful week we have had on our Vermont vacation! Plus lots to share over the next few days with celebrations for Jonah! Today we are soaking up time with our sweet boy and I'll fill you all in soon with lots of stories and pictures!

Wordless Wednesday...

Okay, here we are at Jungle Gardens on a hot afternoon and I insisted on getting a picture of Jonah with a parrot. This is what I got: Daddy freaking out that there is a parrot on his shoulder and Jonah is thinking (maybe)..."What is that thing? Can I touch it? Will it bite me?" So much for that...and so much for Wordless Wednesday.....

A Child's Expressions

A few evenings ago we ventured out to the park before dinner. We had so much fun swinging and climbing on all the play structures. I snapped away with the camera to capture the expressions of the moment. Jonah is so full of happiness, curiosity, and thoughtfulness...he just soaks it all in. His face tells a thousand words.....

So curious...is that a tongue sticking out at me?! :)

My happy little man...having fun at the park!

"Six Little Ducks That I Once Knew..."

Oh you know that song..."fat ones, skinny ones, fair ones too. But the one little duck with a feather on his back; he led the others with a quack, quack, quack..." Can you tell what kind of music I listen to now, all the time! ;)

We went for a visit to the Shelby Botanical Gardens 2 weeks ago and had a wonderful time walking around, showing Jonah all the beautiful flowers, trees, views of the bay, the butterflies, and even listened to the sounds that the Bamboo make when they cling and clang together in the breeze. But...the most exciting part was chasing the ducks!!!! :)

We were watching the huge fish in the pond when all of a sudden they appeared!
Jonah was mesmerized and wanted to go after them. Since he is becoming more mobile on two feet, we were off and waddling with them....so fun!

This is how I found Jonah last night when I went to check on him around 11:00pm before going to bed myself... :)

One More Month....

Happy 11 Months Jonah!!!

I can't believe my little Jonah is one month shy of a year old! That means no more infancy, no more counting weeks, and at the rate he's going....lots of chasing!

Some new things that Jonah's been doing this month are:
1. Standing without holding on to anything.
2. He's even taken his first few steps and does so from time to time! (Amazing!)

3. Points to something he wants or where he wants to go by using his mouth..he puckers up and says "ooh, ooh" (it's really funny)... 4. Jonah gives kisses!

5. He is drinking milk instead of nursing during the day and really likes it.
6. Has become really sociable with other children.
7. Is getting into all the cabinets, draws, and toilets.
8. Jonah has also led me to a nighttime routine where he has to say goodnight to everything in his room and read two books!
This summer is flying by and before you know it, Jonah will be a one year old...I can't believe it!
