Our summer is flying by! It's is more than half way over, but I'm not going to dwell on that now. There is a lot more fun coming our way. Here are pictures of some fantastic times at the water park which Jonah can't get enough of. Between that and the pool he has become a real water baby and is even starting to swim on his own! We had lots of fun last week with Jaden and Rachel!

Disney/Father's Day Weekend
Here are a bunch of pictures from our Orlando/Disney/Father's Day weekend trip. Despite the fact that I thought Jonah was to young to tackle Disney, he really enjoyed it! On Thursday night headed to Orlando for a FAAE conference that I was asked to speak at. While I was at the conference on Friday, Uncles Adam and David helped Jimmy entertain Jonah at the hotel pool and hung out until I was finished. Then we met up with Grandma and Grandpa later that evening at the house Grandpa arranged for us to stay at. We each had a comfy room to sleep in and despite Jonah waking up in the middle of the night ready to party, we did okay. (Jonah is not a good sleeper when we travel, oh well)....The next morning Auntie Leah came in from Gainsville after her last exam finishing up her third year of med school and celebrated her birthday with us at Disney. We started out at Animal Kingdom since none of us had been there and took the Safari ride to see all the amazing animals. Jonah loved it and now makes all the sounds that elephants, monkeys, lions, giraffes and others make!

Next we took a train ride (Jonah's favorite) to the petting zoo area where Jonah got to pet and chase after the goats and sheep...
After lunch we caught the "Lion King" show. Now this show was to be our last stop at the park and my plan was to head make to the house for a nap, but even though it was soooo loud with music and lights,(a really great show by the way) Jonah passed out on my shoulder halfway through. He was enjoying it so much in the beginning, then just put his head down. Next thing I knew, he was fast asleep. I guess between waking up in the middle of the night, all the excitement, and the Florida heat, he was super tired. So he slept in his stroller while we walked around some more..... :)

One of these pictures in front of the Tree of Life is with Jonah asleep, so before we left, we made sure to take one when he woke up!
Then we were off to Magic Kingdom for the second half of the day. I did say it was a hectic day/weekend! Jonah enjoyed the Ferry Ride with Grandpa....
In retrospect we would have just gone to Magic Kingdom for the whole day. It just seemed way more age appropriate for Jonah, but fun while we were there anyway!

We stayed in the Fantasy Land area mostly which they are working on expanding soon and went on the Small World ride, Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo, the Carousel, and even braved Pirates of the Caribbean. Jonah had lots of fun and was mesmerized by all of it. We stayed clear of the characters walking around since Jonah is not of fan of dressed up people in strange animals costumes. There was no reason to push it.
By the end of the evening, Jonah fell asleep on me again during a 3D musical animation number. He slept through the loud fireworks as we were leaving the park around 9:30 and through the ferry ride and the tram ride to the car, and though the rest of the night...
On Sunday, Father's day we celebrated at Rain Forest Cafe in Downtown Disney. A very neat place where storms are simulated while you are eating. Jonah was apprehensive at first but then joined the animals when they were making noises. We took him on a couple of small rides, walked around the shops, then ate some ice cream at Giradelli's and headed home. After a very fun but exhausting weekend, Jonah slept in the car while Jimmy and I tried to keep each other awake for the ride. We were just as tired! :)

Summertime Fun!
The end to the school year and the beginning of summer has been super busy for us! With playdates and graduations and birthdays (Auntie Leah's and Grandma's) and new classes for Jonah and I to enjoy and our Orlando trip with a day at Disney! Hectic, but lots of fun! So, let's go back a few weeks first....Before the school year ended I was "harvesting" butterflies with my 2nd graders. Jonah was able to watch and help on the weekends because I had to clean out the cage and make sure those "very hungry caterpillars" had lots to eat. He was mesmerized and even gently touched the caterpillars. At the end of the year I had one Monarch chrysalis left so when the butterfly came out Jonah got to see it and we let it fly free together! He still talks about it when we look at pictures of butterflies! :)

Then there was Uncle David's 4 hour Pineview Graduation....good thing Daddy stayed home with Jonah and then joined us for a celebration dinner. And I got to sit quietly for 4 hours, yes 4 hours and watch my youngest brother graduate high school, wow! We are so proud of you kiddo! Jimmy and Jonah met up with us at the end of the ceremony for family photos....cute outfit choice, Daddy!:)
The whole family.....

Getting to be a "Big Boy"
Jonah is really growing up! He is already 21 months and truly becoming a toddler with lots of personality. He has the greatest facial expressions, knows when he's being funny, or silly, or even sneaky, and is very affectionate too. Jonah is now saying lots of new words like up, down, more, shoes, toes, juice, eyes, cheese (for the camera, he's such a ham;), and he is trying to repeat the sounds of other words all the time. He completely understands and responds yes and no to questions or comments. He loves coloring, painting, and has just discovered play-doh. Jonah wants to sit at a "big boy table" and has started to show lots of pretend play with his toys like the cars, farm animals, and his stuffed animals too! It's really cute to watch. He is even getting lots of hair. And...He is starting to make pee, pee and more in the potty!!! Wow Jonah!Monday, May 9, 2011
Tomato Picking........
Yummy tomatoes....

Last Saturday, Jonah and I joined The Abrams Family (Marni, Jay, and Rachel) at Hunnsader Farms for a day of tomato picking! What fun it was to watch Jonah and Rachel run around the tomato field, help pick tomatoes and play while I tried to get as many tomatoes as I could into my huge bag......tomato salad anyone???
Too cute!
