Being a teacher definitely has it's benefits! Besides of course, teaching and nurturing young minds, I get great vacation time! Since I am working...it's definitely a pro to my profession! So, Jonah and I got to spend a wonderful two weeks together with no work! We played and colored and ran around at the park and went to read aloud at Barnes and Noble and sign language classes at the library and had playdates with "the girls"...and dealt with a cold and a reoccurring ear infection only to find out that Jonah is allergic to penicillin...But we are great and had a wonderful time just being together!

Happy Chanukah 2010
Chanukah is always a fun, festive time of year for us and now that Jonah is here it's even more fun! With presents and new toys, we all had a great time opening new boxes and watching his reaction filled with excitement as everything was unwrapped. It's amazing how Jonah already understands the concept of opening new toys. He makes the most hysterical face, wide eyes with an open mouth! It's too funny! ....and since Grandma and Grandpa got him a 4-wheeler that actually moves 1mph and a bunch of new cars and a Little People car track, he was amazed! Jonah also loved lighting the candles every night and danced as we sang the prayers. Every time he walked by the menorahs Jonah would stare at the lights and try to blow on them like they were birthday candles...too cute. Of course teaching him that they are hot and not to touch was key. Needless to say we had a wonderful time eating, celebrating, and laughing with our little man....what a difference it makes to have a little one around during the holidays....it's just that much (so much) more special! Grateful, Thankful....Thanksgiving!
As always, Thanksgiving was full of family and great food...thanks to Grandma! But this year in particular made me really reflect on all that I am thankful for in my life. I have come to realize that as little as I think I have at times or as hard as times get once in a while, my life is truly a blessing and my heart is full, and I do have so much! I am forever thankful for having such a beautiful, sweet, and charismatic baby boy. We are so blessed to have Jonah in our lives, to fill our days with laughter and our hearts with love. I am also lucky to have a loving husband who is such a caring and playful father. The giggles that fill our home when Jonah and "Daddy" play are songs in my ears! I am so grateful for the supportive and loving family that surrounds us.
We got to spend lots of time with my family, including "Auntie" Leah who was home for the long Thanksgiving weekend and hadn't seen Jonah since the summer. He warmed up to her pretty quickly and she got to see how much he's grown both physically and socially. Jonah interacts and expresses himself so much more now which makes playing together lots of fun...
The rest of the long weekend was filled with more festivities..it was Jimmy's 4oth Birthday. To celebrate we hosted lunch with my family and then got out with friends later that evening. That was lots of fun and good to get out on our own for a little while! The following evening both Grandma and Grandpa watched Jonah again so that my siblings along with Jimmy and I could get out to see the Tampa Bay Lightning game. Ice hockey is always exciting to watch live. Wow, out two nights in a row, it's been while!
As hard as it is getting a few good photos with a very busy toddler...we tried!

Cooler Weather Fun
When it cools down in Florida it is such a nice relief! We spent a lot of time enjoying the fresh air this past weekend. Jonah loves being outside and he looks so grown up in his new "cool weather" clothes. Here are some cute pics of Jonah dressing up to go out. Check out the snowboarder hat! :)
The smile that melts my heart!
The smile that melts my heart!Halloween Fun....a little later...
Okay, so I'm a little late on Halloween but I'm a working mom, with a demanding job...we're busy, I try to keep up as much as possible....enough said...
Anyway, here are some fun (and cute) pictures from our Halloween weekend.....Jonah enjoyed visiting my classroom and digging out the pumpkin seeds with my students. On Halloween evening he loved stomping his feet around like a dinosaur and we had so much fun watching....He also helped Grandma give out candy to the "big" kids.

It's Pumpkin Time!
Last week we took Jonah to Fruitville Grove to check out the pumpkins, some animals, kettle corn and shaved ice. What fun!!! Jonah had a great time roaming the pumpkin patch, petting a goat and a horse, checking out the roosters and peacocks, and slurping down some sweet shaved ice....the kettle corn was for Mommy and Daddy...
