Mother's Day........

Dear Jonah,

Thank you for fulfilling my life with so much happiness. For putting a smile on my face and filling our home with laughter, curiosity, and more love than I would ever have imagined. For making me feel amazingly important with all your hugs and kisses. For making everything right with your beautiful smile so full of innocence, even after a no good, rotten, horrible, very bad day. And most of all for making me your Mommy.....I love you, Jonah!!!

Summer is coming.....

Well, it's getting hot in the sunshine state; very hot. Over the last two weeks we've been spending some time at the beach, the pool, and the water park. We visited with Kristin and Jonathan who came down from Boston for some much needed warmth. Here are some great pictures of our fun in the sun!

Splish, splash in the pool!
(Longboat Key) Beach Bum!
Loving this view...
Discovering shells...
Jonah had such a fun beach day...
I love these photos.....
Getting ready for the sunset at Siesta Key....
The following weekend at the water park. We get Grandpa to come along, play, and take pictures!
Jonah had a blast, looks like we'll be here a lot this summer!

Wow, Fire Trucks!

Last Saturday, Jonah and I went downtown to the YMCA 911 safety demonstration. We brought Uncle David along with us for the company and help and met Uncle Adam and friends. Jonah was excited and a bit overwhelmed to see all the big Fire Trucks, police cars, ambulances, police horse (which was huge and scary to the little guy), and rescue dogs. Despite it getting really hot and needing to stay in the shade as much a possible, we had lots fun climbing into the trucks and snapping a few pictures.....

Grandparents....

The unconditional love of grandparents is priceless. It's Sunday morning (or afternoon) bike rides with Grandpa on the Legacy Trail that we just can't miss. It's a day a week with Grandma with all her hugs and kisses, coloring, cooking, watering plants, trips to the play ground, sitting with toys and books that she's kept since I was a baby, and all that she teaches. It's Sunday night dinner with family even though we always stay later than we planned, but it doesn't matter because time together is so precious. It's walks on the beach and seeing my parents feeling "young" again. :)
We love you Grandma and Grandpa, so very much!!!

So long for now....

Aren't they so cute!!!!
Before Liz and Abby left for baseball season in Baltimore, we had a fun play date at the park. It's sad parting ways especially when Abby and Jonah have so much fun together and Liz and I get a chance to have "mommy talk time", but we are glad to hear that they are settling into their beautiful Baltimore rental and enjoying baseball season which seems to be off to a great start for Jim and the Orioles. We wish you guys all the best and can't wait to take up where we left off when you come back home! :)

A Reader....

Jonah loves to read! I'm so excited as a mother and a teacher that my son loves books! He's got a favorite that is all about trucks of course and several others that he very much enjoys listening to as well. Toward the end of our busy day, Jonah will go and pick out a bunch and nods his head yes with a smile when asked, "would you like to read these books with me?" For some like "The Going to Bed" by Sandra Boyton, he does the motions of brushing teeth, scrubbing in the tub, exercising, and rocking to sleep and he has gotten great at pointing out different things in books like in "Goodnight Moon" and "I Love You Through and Through"! Jonah also likes to look at books in the car and we even have a bunch of book in the bathtub! I hope he will always love to read....
